With a broad set of tools, Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Enterprise simplifies work in both workgroups and at the global enterprise level, helping to keep processes transparent, clear, cost-effective, and flexible. The software not only enables the management and filtering of appointments and e-mails remotely but also supports access from mobile devices. However, to prevent emails with malicious content from getting into the mailbox and potentially causing damage, Microsoft Exchange Server has been providing an integrated virus scanner since version 2013.
Simple communication through optimized design
Efficient collaboration across workgroups and departments is critical for business success. Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Enterprise supports easy collaboration through a completely redesigned user interface. Both the connected Microsoft Outlook 2013 and the Outlook Web App have been enhanced in this way, with the Web App, in particular, is designed for use on mobile devices with touch screens.
This gives users the ability to merge contacts from multiple sources across multiple platforms and benefit from improved search results. These are based on the Intelligent Search feature built into Exchange Server 2013, which evaluates collaboration and communication behavior to automatically deliver the best results.
Extended functionality of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Enterprise
Probably the biggest difference between the standard variant and Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Enterprise is the number of databases per server. While the standard version allows only 5 databases per server, the enterprise version in the RTM version (CU1) has up to 50 databases. In CU2 and higher update versions, up to 100 databases per server are possible.
There are also other features included in the Enterprise Edition, such as the decryption of the journal, powerful data loss prevention (DLP), significantly enhanced ActiveSync Mobile Management policies and a dedicated mailbox archive. The precondition for the latter, however, is Microsoft Office Professional Plus in the versions 2007, 2010 or 2013.
Data Loss Prevention itself prevents not only data loss within the organization, but also prevents users from accidentally sending data to unauthorized individuals. Thanks to Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Enterprise, the protection and monitoring of sensitive data are more efficient than ever with the help of content analysis.
